Of The Month...

So clearly that wasn't working all that well for me, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvience. I will alter that a bit in hopes that an alteration will help me stay on task. Instead of having a story of the month, short story of the month, and book of the month every month, I'll just have one every month. So this month...well I'll let you know once I decide for sure.

My Brother's Tutor

I started a new story I'd been wanting to write for a couple of years now called My Brother's Tutor. It's about a girl, MacKayla, who is searching for something to fill in the 'missing link' as she calls it. In her search, she decides it must be family connections, so she decided to take her brother on a road trip, however, he's been getting into some trouble with grades so her parents are having him tutored over the summer in Science and refuse to let him go.
Finally, she gets them to agree on the condition that his tutor comes along as well. She could not think of a worse punishment.
Basically, they go on vacation for a month or so because she's trying to 'find herself'. She wants to gather up all the pieces and put them together. This is one of many attempts to achieve that.

Noble Queen

Okay so here's a poem I wrote in Sam's point of view from the story A Race Divided

Noble Queen
I have so many lives at stake
And the war we face causes my heart to break.
We've lost so many, I can't deny.
I've tried so hard not to let them see me cry.

Every night it's one step closer.
I try to push it back and fight it,
But my strength is slowly seeping.
I find that I have trouble sleeping.

My troops are standign at the ready
And I've gotten more to stand beside me.
Sworn to protect their sons and daughters,
Nearly lost my life to keep that promise.

Our enemies are just misguided,
This civil war will cause disaster.
They're even killing one another,
And blame it on me to feed the anger.

To sneak into town dressed undercover,
I feel like an outlaw in my own world.
I just want to end the fighting,
But it seems the capability is out of my hands.

With a sigh I turn away.
I've lost control and lost the lives
Of too many now to play it cool.
This must end right now. Tonight.

They want a war, they've made it clear.
I'll have to show them what it is to fear.
