Debbie Pepper's Song

So I have a friend, Debbie Peppers recently asked me to write her a story based on a song she's always wanted to see written out. The song's called 'Angie Baby' by Helen Reddy. I have nothing from the story, but here are the lyrics to the song I'm trying to base this story off of;

You live your life in the songs you hear
on the rock and roll radio
and when a young girl doesn't have any friends
thats a really nice place to go
folks hoping you'd turn out cool
but they had to take you out of school
you're a little touched you know
angie baby

lovers appear in your room each night
and they whirl you across the floor
but they always seem to fade away
when your daddy taps on your door
angie girl are you alright?
tell the radio goodnight
all alone once more angie baby

Chorus
angie baby
you're a special lady
living in a world of make believe
well maybe

stopping at her house is a neighbour boy
with evil on his mind
cos he's been peeking in angie's room
at the night through her window blind
I see your folks have gone away
would you dance with me today
I'll show you how to have a good time
angie baby

( angie baby ) (angie baby )

when he walks in the room
he feels confused
like he walked into a play
and the music's so loud
it spins him around
till his soul has lost it's way
and as she turns the volume down
he's getting smaller with the sound
it seems to pull him off the ground
toward the radio he's bound
never to be found

the headlines read that a boy disapeared
and everyone thinks he died
except a crazy girl with a secret lover
who keeps her satisfied
it's so nice to be insane
no one asked you to explain
radio by your side
angie baby

Chorus
angie baby
you're a special lady
living in a world of make believe
well maybe
well maybe
well maybe

well maybe

Parked Cars

So I had to write a poem for class, my friend asked me to post it on here. It's about our friends and graduation. Here goes...I'm no poet so bare with me.

Parked Cars
Not apart
But not together
We'll move away
And stay close
We stuck together
Through it all
Now we're grown
Moving on
One goes to write
One goes to draw
One studies stars
One studies law
One wants to teach
A class of kids
One wants to teach
The musicians
We won't forget
The funny jokes
Of parked cars
And favorite thefts
Fearing these next few months
Anxious to grow up
Torn between thirsts for knowledge
And the friends we leave
No one said it was easy
We'll meet new people
No longer together
But never alone

January's Story of the Month

Story of the month is Painful Reminders. As I'm fond of all my stories, it's not hard to believe that I like it, but it's one of my favorite. See, a couple of years back I was reading quite a few vampire books (I still read them now, but I've cooled down), and as expected, I usually write about what's in my life. So when I was vampire obsessed, I started quite a few stories about...well vampires. This one was just recently finished...or well, the rough draft was.
So let me try to give you the summary, huh?

Amaya Night grew up living with her grandfather, her only living relative. He was always telling her stories about a war centuries ago between werewolves and vampires, and though she had her doubts, he believed them completely. When her grandfather dies of a heart attack, she's left all alone in the world and she goes from Party Queen to anti-social in a matter of seconds. Then her best friend is nearly killed by a vampire, and in her attempt to save her friend, she's kidnapped.
She finds herself neck deep in a war between to races that she never even believed in, and she's the only one who stands a chance at stopping this war once and for all. Amaya quickly makes enemies with a vampire leader by the name of Carson. He is constantly forced to chase after her himself because no one can seem to keep her from disappearing and nearly getting herself killed.
The very first night she stays there, she begins to dream about the past, hundreds of years prior to then when the first vampire and werewolf became what they were. Using this knowledge, she seeks the oldest werewolf in an attempt to help reconcile the differences between the two creatures.
Carson has a great deal of trouble keeping this very human woman alive when all she refuses to fear death itself.

Basically, this is a story about a girl who must break a curse, start to live her life, and learn that just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it's not there. If you're into humorous tales of adventures, it's the story for you.

January's Book of the Month

First to Die by James Patterson is the first book in his Women's Murder Club series. It centers around a group of women trying to solve a case together. The case is actually multiple cases of murdered newly weds. If you're fond of murder mysteries, this is a great book for you. There is a slight romantic thing going on between one of the women and her partner (she's a cop), but it's not really a romance at all. I give this book four stars out of five. Comment on your opinion of the book!

When A Writer Gets Bored

Okay so I got bored and wrote out a few more random titles. My World and Everything In It, When Barbie Doesn't Cut It, and Outside the Box. Here are the summaries I'm thinking about...they are most definitely subject to change...

Outside the Box
She considered her self just as creative as the best of them. At times, she even bragged about the vastness of her imagination. She just never thought she'd have to prove it.

**Okay so what happens is she somehow gets into another world that is kind of way beyond anything she ever would've imagined, and she's expected to help them through it in order to get back home...or something along those lines. I'm not exactly sure.**

When Barbie Doesn't Cut It
She was never willing to fit the mold, but she never really stood out either...until one misplaced comment leads to an argument that leads to all out war. Now she's not only different and standing out, she's got all eyes on her. This time they'll learn that plastic isn't as sturdy as the real deal, and she has no problem breaking a few shells to prove it.

**She gets into an argument with a popular girl who then begins to single her out for ridicule. Instead of taking it, she starts fighting back and it's open war. Her goal is to ruin the face facades, and it's causing chaos everywhere.**

My World and Everything In It
So she's always been more interested in her own little world than the world around her, but when she lands smack dab in the middle of her wildest dreams, she'll be hard pressed not to pay better attention. One false move and it could be her last.

**This one I'm kind of playing with a bit. She could end up in some kind of weird 'other' world (which is what I'm leaning towards) or she could kind of have something from her daydreams come true, sort of waking her up. I think maybe she gets sucked into an almost 'Alice in Wonderland' type thing...I'll have to mess with it a bit though.

The Halfway Point

Okay so I am currently at 156 for Modern Day Beauty. It's now officially in Blake's point of view, and we learn almost immediately that some of Kira's suspicions are true...he hasn't changed as much as he would like us to believe. I'm not saying he's still an ass, but...okay well he's still an ass. He's changing though, he even bought her a bookshelf! That's awesome for a bookworm like Kira.
Anyway, I'll have an excerpt up soon, I just want to try and get some other stuff done too.
Also, three new story titles I came up with...now I just have to come up with a plot...They would be, Missing You Terribly, Does It Help?, aaaaand The Other Side of Nothing

Two Halves Make a Whole

Okay so I'm currently at 133 pages on Modern Day Beauty and dear Blake is showing some real (if slight) progress. Now this is nearing, if not passed the halfway point. They are currently at the week before Christmas. Christmas night will be the last day that Kira has center stage. After that, I'm going to attempt to write the rest of the story in Blake's point of view. It'll be a challenge seeing as I'm not all that familar with the way his mind works, but I think I'll catch on quickly and finish it with a bang.
I feel that in order to really see the changes made by Blake, we should get into his head so we can see it for ourselves. Otherwise we're only watching and seeing it from Kira's (let's be honest here) bias point of view. She doesn't have much faith in people changing, and her words and feelings of distrust can't be allowed to alter our overall judgement. It wouldn't be fair to the poor boy. With this in mind, I feel that the rest of the story will be much better off in his point of view. We'll see how it goes.
